Can you guys help me get rid of the activation lock on my iPad mini 6? I don't know what the password to the Apple ID is and I can't reset the password, because the Apple ID is a gmail not an iCloud.

Is the Apple ID it's locked to yours but you've just forgotten the password? If so, start here:
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
If it is someone else's Apple ID and you cannot get in touch with them, as noted above, there's nothing to be done.
If that Apple 🆔 is not yours unfortunately you can’t use that iPhone with another Apple 🆔 because Apple won’t unlock iPhones with activation lock
