Unable to connect a TASCAM DR-05X via USB since upgrading to Sonoma 14.5

I've been connecting my Tascam DR-05X digital audio recorder to my Mac via USB to transfer audio files from Tascam to Mac every few months for years. I last did it on May 7, 2024, about a week before macOS 14.5 came out. I just tried it for the first time since upgrading to 14.5 and it doesn't show up in my Finder window under devices.

The Tascam is recognizing the USB connection and I'm selecting SD Card emulation as always.

Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas how to work around it?

I've just downloaded the latest DR-05X firmware, but if the Mac won't recognize the USB connection, I have no way to copy the firmware to the Tascam unit.

Maybe order matters. I plugged into the DR-05x, set it as an SD-Card reader, and then plugged the other end into the Mac's USB hub. Recognized instantly. Also using Sonoma 14.5.

Was able to connect with the first firmware (V1.01) & the latest (V1.16)
