Object eraser not working on iPhone 15 Pro

Using the directions provided by Apple, the process did not work to remove an object from a photo. There is an X under the object eraser choice also

Deleting objects from photo I’m trying to remove an object from a photo. I keep seeing online that there is a “clean up” option but I don’t see it. I’m on IOS 18.3.1. What about the mark-up pixel/object eraser in edit photos mode? There is a choice between pixel or object eraser. I tried both, but neither had any effect at all on the image. How is it supposed to work?
