View URL preview when scanning QR codes

I used to be able to hold-click the link to preview the link in the QR code on my iPhone before I opened it in my browser. I'm no longer able to get the preview of the URL in the QR code when scanning on my iPhone. Everything I've tried just opens the link in the browser which shows the full URL after the redirect happens.

Example: I could preview shortlink.com/letters before being redirected to longlink.com/landing-page in my browser.

The reason:

I use short links in most QR codes, especially those in printed pieces. I often scan them to find the short link I need to update or redirect. (For example, if a department wants to change where the QR code on their tradeshow banner points; internship landing page, careers landing page, etc. I simply change where the short URL is directed.) I used this feature to find the short link to update. *I also used the preview to confirm the URL when clicking on someone else's QR code.

Any suggestions?
