How do I set calendar to the month view every time i open the Calendar app ?

For iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch) how do I set calendar to the month view every time i open the calendar app. Every time i open the calendar app on any device it jumps to the day view. Just wondering if there is a way to make it default to the month every time.

On my iPhone I can see the monthly view if I hold the iPhone in portrait mode.

Turning the screen to landscape mode shows the current week.

If I tap on "Today" in the left bottom corner, I can see the current events for the day, and a tap on the error on top of the screen brings me back to the monthly view.

And, if you close the calendar app in monthly view, it will open again in this last configuration, the next time you use the calendar app.
