How can I find out the source of a charge if it has no purchase history?

I just got a charge for 121.99 on my card, and have no idea what it was from. I have no active subscriptions.

The thing is, I can’t check purchase history because the payment declined, because I have my money in a pot, so I have no idea where this charge came from and no way to find out. Did anyone else have a charge like this and were able to find out why?

Which “card” was the charge declined on? The Apple Mastercard credit card or another card?

If the Apple Card your Wallet app will show the declined charge. I recently experienced this when Microsoft attempted to auto-renew my Office 365 subscription. It was declined twice and the declines showed up in the Wallet. I got a notification as well and was asked to verify the purchase. I did and the renewal went though the third time.

No charge was actually mode, it was declined. I don't think there's any way to determine who originated the charge. Read this document if you think your Apple ID has been compromised. --> If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

What you are saying, I'm afraid, does not make sense. How do you have a charge if the payment was declined?? If the item couldn't be paid for then there's no sale and therefore no charge.

Where are you seeing this charge? Is it even something to do with Apple? If it was an email, it is quite possible it is phishing. Apple will send out receipts by email but not if no sale was made.
