How can I fix iTunes music transfer issues from iMac to Phone?

I like to have hard copies of my music, added 4 new Prince cd’s yesterday and Ramones to my iMac. Connected my phone and synced it, but none of the Prince music transferred to my phone but the Ramones did. The only prince that I am seeing is what I purchased from iTunes. Why?
