My iPad Air M2 battery is draining fast

Bough when it went out still battery issues on ios18

ill try reinstalling to check if better, i hope..

my old ipad air 2 from 2015 holds still around 8 hours, i think too it’s m2 chip

if reinstalling doesn’t do anything I think i will stick on A chip for ipad..

My battery health is already 98% and it hasn't been a year since i bought it. i dont even use it regularly, just when i need to read something for school. i always turn off the wifi and bluetooth because it can drain much faster. I dont even use it while charging

I just had the same problem with a replacement unit, my first unit was perfect with battery performance, but it had a terrible response from the touch screen and was the reason to contact Apple support. They changed it and I'm noticing that the battery performance in this new unit is really bad. I don't know if I should contact support again or wait a few days...

Hello GoodSailorMark. What do you mean by "I returned the iPad and changed to the identical model and spec. Problem solved". You took it back and bought the same exact m2 ipad again and your problem was fixed? (the first one you bought had the problem?)

it seems to have been fixed. but I don't trust this iPad anymore. I'll replace it as soon as i can. Apple refuses to give me an exchange or a refund. First time I'm so frustrated with an Apple product.

An iPad battery is rated to retain 80% of its initial full capacity after 1000 charge cycles. As such, simple math suggests that your iPad's indicated battery health will reduce by 1% for every 50 full recharge cycles.

Losing "only" 2% of your battery's initial capacity after a year is surprisingly low.

My Ipad Pro M4 11inch is facing this issue too.

But we're still supposed to get almost twice this capacity. I think that it's a problem with new iPads only, idk why

Same issue with me.. even if i am just using notability app with wifi and bluetooth disabled battery drain is quite surprising.

my older ipad had much better backup.

I also recently purchased the iPad Air M2 and I mostly use it only for goodnotes with my pencil pro and the battery drains ridiculously fast! I really hope there’s a fix to it

My device is experiencing the same extreme battery drain - what is the official fix from Apple? Wait for more software updates? Replace the device? I am curious.

I think that is not a real solution, you have to try it for a few days to see if it works. I did the same thing and for the first few days everything seemed fine, but then the problem came back.
