Leaving my Macbook plugged, is it bad?

Hi,

I've recently bought my MacBook Air with the M2 chip and I've been really wondering if it's a good idea to let my MacBook plugged during a whole day and using it at the same time. I've seen a lot of different opinions on this topic and I don't really know what's better because since this thing costs a lot of money, I want to preserve it in the best way possible especially for the battery life.

Since it's summer break, my MacBook only sits on my desk during the whole day and the usual things I do on it is playing some light games, watching YouTube, browsing the net.. basically light things. When I get back to school, I will have to take it with me so I won't charge it. For now, I'm letting it plugged during the day since it's seems that it's better for the battery but when I go to sleep I obviously unplug it.

I really just need a clear answer.

Thank you.

MacBook Air, macOS 14.5

You can leave your computer plugged in when needed or when ever convenient to do so. Leaving your computer plugged in will not damage the computer or the battery. The MacOS manages the power/charging system very well. There is no need for you to micromanage the system.
