Diable iMac welcome chime sound

I have a mid-2010, model 11,2 iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6 os and would like to mute/turn off the welcome chime sound on boot up. I've tried the recommended terminal command without success. Any other thoughts? Thanks.

See: Turn the Mac startup sound on or off - Apple Support

↳ macOS versions before macOS Big Sur do not have a setting for this.

If I recall correctly, Macs would mute the sound during startup, if they were shut down with sound setting to Off. Although I’m not sure for each version macOS. But I remember all Macs being silent in the graphic design studio, many years ago.
