No matter what I have tried, my Weather App opens to the wrong city on my iphone. I have ios 17.5.1 on a 15 Pro Max. I have tried shutting it down (several times,) switching location to never, always, and or when app is running, and it still opens to the wrong city. I have to cancel it to get it to open to my city. Any help would be apreciated.

Assuming that the area your weather app opens to by default does not say “My Location” at the top when opened, you should be able to (on the default Apple Weather App) simply tap at the bottom right to open the location switching menu. Within the list shown, you should see one labeled “My Location”. If you tap on that, it’ll open all your location’s weather information. If you stay looking at that location when you close the app, you will open the app next time to find your correct location’s weather report. I hope this helps!

Thank you to all who provided suggestions. Very much appreciated. Being the tenacious person I am, I deleted and reinstalled several times, and FINALLY got the app to recognize my location. Being stubborn can pay off in these cases. To the Apple community: you are the best. xoxo

Try a differnt weather .app and compare your results...
Make a change to your Location Settings and compare your results
Control the location information you share on iPhone
Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone ...

Incorrect Location in Weather App:
Just how far away is this "wrong city"? Note that the location is all based on an IP Address. So, give a few.
Restart your iPhone:

There are many other weather apps suitable for Apple in the App Store .
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, it did not help, so I deleted the app and reinstalled it. I got rid of one incorrect city, but now there is a different incorrect location, and I still have to swipe it to get to my location. SO frustrating.
