CarPlay volume control stuck in Voice Guidance

I’ve got a car that came with OEM CarPlay. Over the years, I’ve had this sporadic problem where when I am using Google Maps on my iPhone, and it gets stuck in “Voice Guidance” volume mode, and I CANNOT get it to go back to let me control the volume of my music in “Entertainment” volume mode.

The only sure fire fix is to stop the car, turn everything off, and turn the car on again.

Any ideas for a fix that does not ruin my road trip?

Mercedes 2022 GLE Carplay Volume Issues I just purchased a 2022 GLE 450 and I am having major Apple Carplay issues with both Google and Apple maps. When music is playing and the voice guidance is on Carplay lowers the volume and then brings it back up in a buggy way. The volume doesn't lower properly, and when it comes back up it spikes the volume super high before going back to the set volume. The car works fine works fine on bluetooth though which means it's definitely a Carplay issue Has anyone else experience this volume issue on Carplay? It's very frustrating and dealer is saying it's a bug with Apple. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No volume control when playing music via CarPlay Why can we not control the music volume, or when my iphone is connected by CarPlay? The navigation system or car dashboard can not change the volume. The side buttons on my iphone can not change it. The volume controls on my steering wheel can not change it. What is going on?? A lot of people have the same issue! (My phone is up-to-date and I have a new car.)

CarPlay Navigation volume is too loud This question was previously asked and the answer given that was found helpful is to go into Settings->Maps->Navigation & Guidance but this setting doesn’t exist in iOS 16. Where do I go to adjust that volume - it really is ridiculously loud. The funny thing is that I can ask Siri to use a lower volume voice and she responds that she’ll talk more softly. Only to be scream the next direction out the car speakers :-( I checked the CarPlay->Settings and don’t see a volume control there. There’s a volume icon on the CarPlay map, but that doesn’t let you adjust volume either. The car’s physical buttons only affect CarPlay music?! In case it matters (although previous questions about the same was for other car brands), my car is a 2019 Nissan Leaf.
