USB keyboard and mouse on Samsung viewfinity s6 not working but display is ok

Recently purchased a samsung viewfinity s6 ultrawide for my WFH setup and works without issues with the OS from Redmon. I plugged my wife's M1 macbook air and the display is detected but the keyboard and mouse on the monitor is not working.

Samsung chat support said they think its a compatibility issue and couldn't provide more support which is disappointing. Anyone encountered the same issue with the same monitor and found a way to make it work?

Bloody ****!!! So I turned the monitor off and on again and the USB device was detected and all worked fine. Geesh, never thought the usual fix for problems with that OS from Redmond would be the fix for this issue.
