Siri is really dangerous and does not respond verbally during hands-free

No matter what my settings are. Do not disturb is turned off. Siri is turned on respond to Siri. However, Siri is totally silent. During hands-free driving, it is super dangerous because Siri does not ever respond. What can we do about this dangerous thing that Siri does.

You should never put yourself in a situation where a Siri response is required to keep you out of danger.

Your comment is like saying “It is super dangerous that my Full Self Driving automobile did not recognize a crosswalk.” Wrong. The responsibility for safe driving remains with the driver at all times.

I have never had a problem with Siri reading directions out loud. Is it better to be looking at the screen, or am I supposed to print out directions and read them like we did back in the day? It just seems weird to me that for the decade that I've owned my iPhone verbal navigation always worked and now suddenly it doesn't. It seems less safe to me to take your eyes off of the road to look at the map. I guess I'm wrong. While driving, the only thing I use siri for is directions. If I start the navigation before driving, the same thing happens: apple maps does not provide verbal navigation even in car play. When I search the forums, it seems to be a problem for many iphone users. How do you recommend navigating hands free?
