Software update does not recognize password
Trying to update my Macbook Air to Sonoma 14.5, but upon entering my apple password I get a message that the password is not recognized.

What do you mean by your “Apple password.”
You should be using the password for your user account t on that Mac, not an AppleID password.
When it asks for your password, does it fill in your current username or is it blank?
