Apple Mail Banners or Alerts not showing on new (1 day old) MBA

I do get a badge, and a sound. No banner or alert. Banners were working, I switched to Alert, then back again, now I get neither. Here's what mail notification settings look like;

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.5

Mail alerts /banners are not showing, only the badge! Hi, I have turned on notifications for emails on my Mac (running MacOs monterey), but only badges are shown when I receive an email, but I receive the notification on my iPhone first. Mail app not receiving notifications I have an issue getting notifications (for emails received) to work in the mail app. I’ve checked to make sure notifications are enabled. I installed a couple of 3rd party mail apps and I wasn’t able to get notifications working either. Any help appreciated.

Mail app icon not showing number of unread emails for gmail account I noticed the mail app icon is only showing number of unread messages for my ICloud acct but isn’t showing number of unread messages for my gmail acct. yes, the badges for gmail under notifications is set to “ON.” It used to show the total number of unread messages between both accounts, but now only is showing unread ICloud messages and nothing from gmail. Again, gmail notifications have badges set to on. What could be wrong, and why is this happening all of a sudden? Thanks.
