"Photos people detect dosent work: In my photos app I want my photos to be sorted into albums of different people. Whenever I try doing this it tells me 'Photos organizes people and pets into albums. Lock your iPhone and connect it to power to complete.' I follow these steps and it dosnet work, this has been happening for months to a year now. It has sorted a few different people but then when I try manually choosing photos to faces the button to do so is blacked out and unable to be used."

Getting Photos People to Work:
A. Use Siri:
What happens when you tell Siri to sort them? Open the Photos app, and see if you can sort them that way.
B. Blocked Out:
Being blacked out, they're either inaccessible or corrupt. Download a few, and see if that make them accessible, once more.
C. Back Up Your Photos:
Do so by exporting the photos to your Mac or PC: Transfer Photos and Videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or PC - Apple Support
Report this to Apple...
Overeating iPhone and draining iPhone batteries, and battery charging, are a well-known issues. Power is a big concern for iPhone series compatible with iOS 17.1.1. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported this to Apple?"
So, do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of you occurrences, if you don't report it to them.
