App icons not filling blank spaces

When I delete an app on the Home Screen a blank space remains and it’s quite tedious to then try and move all the apps again to rearrange it. Is there an automatic way of the app icons filling in the spaces? I’ve tried resetting the Home Screen layout.

iOS Home Page icon Placement When I try to place Home Screen icons on my iOS devices the screen goes nuts and moves all of the icons in a way that makes it impossible to place things where I want them to be. Icons swirl around and end up in nonsense places or pop to the next screen so I have to chase after them and bring them back to the screen I was working on. Shrunken Icons The Home Screen icons shrunk after the recent update and the button to “Use large icons” does nothing! Apple needs to fix this ASAP, and while you’re at it, have choices for large and extra-large.

Just one App icon on home screen has wiggling minus sign Only one App icon on my home screen has a wiggling minus sign (like when you want to relocate). I've tried turning them all on, then hit "done" and all the wiggling minus signs go away except this ONE... HELP!
