Mail Undo Send button has disappeared

Working in Sonoma 14.5:

The "Undo Send" button in Mail has disappeared.

In the Mail Settings window I have tried to set it to 10, 20, or 30 seconds to no avail.

I have quit. I have quit and rebooted. Nothing brings it back.

I have done nothing recently, of which I am aware, that might cause this.

Suggestions?

The best answer here is by Luis Sequeira1 above.

Once you have set the time to 10, 20 or 30 seconds,

*send an email* (say to yourself). THEN the "Undo Send" buttom will appear at the bottom of the sidebar.

Once the email is sent, it will disappear again.

I had the same problem and tried all the obvious solutions. Nothing works - because the button is *not supposed to appear* except during the 10-30 seconds you have an email to cancel.

Actually, the thing that fixed it was when I rebuilt the Inbox yesterday evening and then rebooted.

I this did because Mail suddenly was acting weirdly in other ways: read emails remained marked "unread", the search function stopped working, etc.

In no way to disparage the suggestions offered, but none of them worked and the mailbox rebuild solved the issue.

Two things I would try as long as you have set the undo delay in settings.

1) Reboot into safemode:

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support (English)

Then reboot back to normal and do the following:

2) If you have mail opening at login, quit Mail. Then while pressing the Shift key, open Mail again and check for the undo option.

If it isn't set to open at login, then while pressing the Shift key, open Mail and then check for the undo option.

Turn it OFF, quit Mail.app—> relaunch Mail holding the Shift key down; and try again changing the Setting>Composing>Undo Send Delay to your preferred time.

verify you have a email in the outbox to send later... to test
