Spinning Wheel of Death on Contacts

I have a 2019 MacBook Air, running OS 14.5 and I continually get the spinning wheel of death when I try to get into my contacts. I have tried all of the posted recommendations that I see: Restarting in Safe Mode--still spins, and delays; Turned off everything that automatically logs in--no change. HELP. I'm so tired of the spinning wheel.

MacOS: Contacts is now so Slow! Editing a Contact makes Spinning Ball freeze the application up! For the last 5 years the MacOS Contacts application has been nearly unusable! Every time I select a Contact entry the system freezes. When I edit a Contact the system shows the spinning ball, and freezes. This has been unacceptable and makes Contacts unusable!!! I've been waiting for Apple to fix the bug, and after 5+ years and a ½ dozen new MacOS versions Contacts STILL freezes up! Any suggestions how to correct this?

Problem adding a contact in Contacts On iMac, Monterey 12.6.3 I cannot add a new contact in "Contacts." I click the plus sign to begin adding a new contact, start typing in the information, but within several seconds suddenly the whole new contact abruptly vanishes, and I'm back in the basic view of all Contacts. There is no trace of the new contact I was trying to add, not even the few characters I was able to type. This happens whether or not I try actually entering information - even if I just sit there and wait several seconds, the new contact abruptly vanishes. This problem was identified way back in 2019. Why has it not been fixed?

Try and completely power the mac down and then restart it in the safe mode to see if you still have the spinning wheel

If you'll look at my note I did try the safe mode, and it still delays and spins.
