Two Macs and One Studio Display - Real World Experience

I have seen many online comments on all this, but I actually have a Studio Display and two Macs (13" 2022 Powerbook and M1 Studio) and want to post what I have learned. All the discussions I have seen about a potential Thunderbolt switch reference devices that are USB C, not proven, cost $3-400, and/or have poor reviews. If someone actually bought one of these and can successfully switch between Macs and their Studio Display, please let us know, but the current state seems to be there is no such switch in existence. So, what I do is I have a 1 meter male-female Thunderbolt cable running from the display. I manually disconnect and reconnect between two short male-male cables running from the two computers. It's not that bad, and it may actually take the same amount of time and effort as the electronic input selector I used to do with a 4k LG. I did try these magnetic connectors I saw on one discussion thread thinking they would be a little more efficient, but while I can get video with this between my cables on my M1 Studio, it simply will not let me get video from my Macbook. Why? I have no idea and messages to the vendor have not been answered. So, yes, I would love Apple to provide two inputs and switching on an $1800 monitor (everyone else does), but if the idea of manually switching causes you concern, it's fine. That is unless you need to impress clients or something. If anyone has real experience with different solutions, please share.
