Logic Pro freezes on my MacBook Pro when selecting a track

Using my created template, everything works fine until I get to the snare drum track. Whenever I click it, logic appears to be loading the sound, but the sound never loads, and then all controls are frozen. I am also not able to close the application by right clicking and selecting quit...nothing happens. I am then forced to force close the program and hope that auto-save captured everything prior to the event happening. There is no error report generated. I can't even select the track to delete it from the session because it freezes. I've gone thru all of the troubleshooting steps listed on the website. at this point I think it's an internal bug in the program that needs to be addressed. The selected instrument on the snare track is Logic Pro quick sampler with a default snare sound loaded. If I create a new track and use quick sampler, the same thing happens. Does anyone have a workaround for this?
