Carplay keeps switching audio between guidance and normal

I've noticed recently that my Carplay will switch between guidance audio and the normal audio.

I've tried everything that was mentioned in other posts, uninstalling apps, resetting privacy and network settings, tried different cables...but it just keeps happening and honestly it is quite maddening.

I'm on an iPhone 15 pro max, carplay connected to a 2018 Honda Civic through a cable.

The only thing I have not tried yet is a full factory reset...but I really don't want to go down that road if I don't have to.

Any suggestions on what else can be done? I've seen way too many people with this issue - Apple should really look into it.

I do notice that it happens a lot more when I'm using my dog's FI pet tracking app - so I will be hitting them up as well to see if it is something that needs fixed on their side as well.
