Studio Display dual monitor set-up for MacBook Pro w/ M3 Max chip

MacBook Pro w/ M3 Max chip can support four monitors (stated by Apple). The computer has three (3) Thunderbolt 4 ports and one HDMI. The Studio display has four (4) thunderbolt 4 ports with one (1) that has power (i.e. when plugged into computer - it will send power so no need for additional plug in from computer.

Here is my question - how are you supposed to connect the two (2) Studio displays. Looking for specificity:

- currently I have a cable running from powered Thunderbolt to computer (which powers computer).

  • second monitor if it needs to be plugged into computer - what port do you use?
  • With the other monitor (can it be daisy chained so I can run a cable from one monitor to other to computer?

Thanks for your assistance with the inquiry ...

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.5

Plug the two displays into two Thunderbolt ports on the computer. The computer will not be bothered by multiple power sources.

You can't daisy chain the displays. The extra ports on the display are not Thunderbolt, so don't have enough bandwidth for a 5K display.
