Random $1 Charge After Setting Up Apple Pay

I sat up Apple Pay from the settings app ([My Name] > Payment and Shipping > Payment Methods), and when I did I got charged $1 from Apple.com/bill. Viewing charges shows nothing as there is no charges, and there's no subscriptions to cancel either. I don't know where this charge came from, if its temporary for verification, if there was a one-time fee to use Apple Pay or what. Is this a normal occurrence, or should I dispute it with my bank?

iPhone 12, iOS 18

It’s a temporary hold on the funds. It will fall off/be refunded within the next 5 days.

The authentication/verification of your account is standard practice when accounts are established with a merchant. The issuing banking bank of the payment method (credit/debit card) shares specific identifying information with the merchant that allows them to confirm your identity etc.
