LaCie SSD Permissions Problem
I have a LaCie SSD permissions issue. I first want to disclose that I have little technical knowledge and have no idea what I'm doing when compared to some here. Now for the issue...I have been using this SSD for Time Machine Backups since I purchased both the SSD and my MacBook Pro last year. I want to add--for lack of a better term--"regular" files that I can access outside of my cloud storage.
In Disk Utility, the LaCie is listed as an APFS Volume. When I look at the info on it through Disk Utility, it lists it as writeable. However, when I go to Get Info through Finder its permissions are listed as Read-Only. This makes no sense to me considering I set up the SSD with this administrator computer sign-on with this computer. The little lock at the bottom right of the Get Info window is not there--it does not give me the option to change the permission from Read-Only to full permissions. I've found some information about changing permission through Terminal, but I'm not savvy enough to be meddling in that by myself.
Will someone please help me with this? Any guidance or assistance would be immensely appreciated.
