Apple Watch stuck during pairing

Hi all, today i have a very specific question.

I just bought an Apple Watch Series 6, and upon starting it up I went through the setup process quite normally until it told me that it needed to update. When I clicked what I thought was skip update, it actually began unpairing the entire watch. However, in doing so, it completely broke the setup process on the watch. It is now stuck at the screen where the Apple logo is in the center and it says “44mm aluminum case” around the circle. It is completely unpaired and undetectable from my phone, however the watch thinks that it is still paired. Every time that I attempt to factory reset it (press the power button, then the Digital Crown) the very pretty-looking scan code appears that would normally appear when asked to scan Apple Watch on your iPhone. It still is undetectable by my iPhone, and still says “continue setup on iPhone”. How do I get it out of this, and back to normal setup again? Thanks for the help.

Hi WriteNick171,

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with your new Apple Watch Series 6. Let’s try to resolve this so you can get your watch up and running.

1. Force Restart Your Apple Watch:

• Press and hold both the side button and the Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

2. Unpair and Re-pair Your Apple Watch:

• Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

• Tap on your watch at the top of the screen.

• Tap the “i” icon next to your watch.

• Select “Unpair Apple Watch” and confirm the process.

• After unpairing, restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch and attempt the pairing process again.

3. Use Apple Watch Recovery Mode:

• Place your Apple Watch on its charger and make sure it is connected to power.

• Press and hold the side button until you see the power off slider.

• Press firmly on the Power Off slider and release, then tap “Erase all content and settings.”

• After the reset completes, try pairing your Apple Watch again.

4. Update iOS and watchOS:

• Ensure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

• During the pairing process, your Apple Watch should prompt you to install the latest watchOS update. Make sure to install any available updates.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to visit an Apple Store or contact Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide more detailed diagnostics and help ensure your Apple Watch is functioning correctly.

Best regards,

Alex
