Are “water eject” apps ok to use for iPhone 14 Plus models?

iPhone 14 dropped in river water - approx 4 minutes.

used a “water eject” app and appears fine. We waited 8 hours before attempt to connect to charge -

got the “ water detected” message and unplugged and waited two additional hours.

second attempt to charge was successful. Everything appears normal and sound quality is good.

All water eject apps do is make your phone vibrate, to hopefully expel liquid. They don't really eject anything. It sounds like you did the right thing, by letting the phone dry before trying to charge it. But keep in mind water and electronics, including iPhone are not friends. Water can cause permanent damage. Keep an eye on the phone. Make sure you have backed it up so if it dies, which it certainly could, you can move your data over to a replacement phone if you need to buy one.
