Why is a picture on my iPhone showing up with someone else, without sharing?

I went on a 1st date. While at dinner, the guy put his phone next to mine and asked what year my phone was. Suddenly, a weird symbol appeared and quickly disappeared on my screen. It was the same symbol that was on the back of his phone.

Today, he said that a bird showed up on his phone when he called me. He then sent me a picture of the bird—it's a picture I had taken! HOW is this possible??? Did he hack my phone?

Hello~ Check this from the link *MrHoffman* posted for you…

*Note: To turn off NameDrop (and other Bring Devices Together features), go to Settings  > General > AirDrop, then turn off Bring Devices Together.

As far as I know, the bird is only a picture from my photo gallery.

If NameDrop were used, how would I know? Would something from his phone now be on my phone?

Also, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions! I appreciate you.

I’d suggest running safety check for your own comfort, too. (I don’t suspect a problem with your iPhone security.)
