Option click Auto Hide a nightmare

For those of us who use apps that require holding options ( pretty much any Unity or 3d user), it is extremely annoying and counter-productive to hide other apps every time we switch apps and intuitively option click the 3d app again. This must be annoying to everyone else in the Apple community as much as it is to me. How can I permanently turn this function off? I am happy to do it through the terminal if need be. Thank you

It sounds like you have Stage Manager enabled. Disable it in System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Stage Manager.

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually really like stage manager. Is there a way to have stage manager on but not hide the other app when holding option.

Stage Manager has nothing to do with hiding apps with the Option key. I think that option has been available (and baked into the OS) since Multi-Finder Pre-OSX.

I imagine you will have to retrain your muscle memory.

Thanks for the quick reply. I actually really like stage manager. Is there a way to have stage manager on but not hide the other app when holding option. I should add that I use chrome on my laptop screen for project management and unity on my main monitor, which makes chrome disappear every time i click on it. As I am moving the camera, most times, I intuitively hold the option, which is required and is second nature. I've been doing that for a decade, so I don't see myself changing. The same problem in Blender. thanks a lot
