Adding a weight vest to Apple Watch workouts

I see a string from 2019 with the only explanation being to change your weight in the health app. This isn’t a great option as tracking your weight gain/loss becomes extremely sporadic. Hoping there’s been an update to the app that allows you to add a weight vest (or ankle weights, etc.) to outdoor walk, stairclimber or other workouts.

As of now, the Apple Watch doesn’t have a built-in feature for tracking weight vests or ankle weights directly in workouts. You can manually adjust your weight in the Health app, but it’s not ideal for tracking specific accessories. You might want to explore third-party apps that offer more detailed workout tracking options.

As opposed the safety/liability issues that could arise from an end user misrepresenting their own actual weight? Or from the possible misdiagnosis of A-Fib, or SpO2 monitoring?? My point, I hope is obvious, that those things aren't actually liabilities within the app, just helpful tools. But they're also far more serious considerations than simply adding a specified weight via a vest or ankle weights to the existing workouts. I don't agree, or at least don't understand that this represents a safety hazard. I'm not saying you're wrong, that very well could be the party line if Apple were to respond to questions about this, but I disagree that it actually IS a safety hazard.

The safety hazard would be developing an algorithm that correctly calculates health aspects of wearing weights and yet still is capable of detecting the various aspects of a life threatening aspects of a fall. The watch would not be able to automatically determine a significant change in weight and if the user didn’t manually adjust weights, then a fall could be fatal.
