Transfer att plan to Verizon phone

My sister gave me a iPhone 11 which is huge from my iPhone SE . She had Verizon and switched to att. She had to surrender all her Verizon phones except the one she gave me. It has been wiped clean and restored to new . I am currently on family plan with my son being account holder. How to I transfer my plan from iPhone SE to the iPhone 11?

If the ‘new’ phone is SIM-lock free, then you can just swap SIM cards.

Else Verizon will have to remove the SIM-lock on your sister’s request (when presumably older than the minimum plan duration for SIM-lock). How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier - Apple Support.

You can find out if this iPhone is locked by going to Settings﹥General﹥About. If "No SIM restrictions" appears next to Carrier Lock, then this iPhone is unlocked.

It is unfortunate that what seems to be a simple request can become very complicated.

You don't mention whether or not your sister had Verizon remove the carrier lock on the iPhone 11. If not, the phone is still locked to Verizon and can only be used on Verizon until they unlock the phone.

Since your sister was the account holder at Verizon, if the iPhone 11 needs to be unlocked, this must be done by your sister contacting Verizon. You will not be able to have Verizon remove the lock on the phone, because it is not registered in your name.

You don't indicate which carrier you are currently using on the SE, but whoever it might be, you will need to contact them and ask them to switch your service over to the iPhone 11.....after.....Verizon unlocks the iPhone 11.
