Apple Care Coverage Service Fees

Have a iPhone 14 Pro with valid Apple Care. Phone won’t charge with 90% of cables. Probable issue with the lightening port. Contact Apple, first person I talk to states there is a service fee. Doesn’t make sense to me as it’s a hardware issue and not accidental damage. They refer me to a supervisor.

Supervisor goes through everything and states they will do the exchange, no fees. Perfect. To complete the process, I need to turn off Find My. Need to turn of the stolen protection and wait an hour. Told to call back when Find My is turned off.

Call back and told there is absolutely a service fee and I never should have been told over wise. Ask to speak to a supervisor and told they were a senior advisor and they know what they are talking about.

Super frustrated. Anyone else have any experience with this? Apple Care specifically says hardware issues covered at no cost.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17

Terms and Conditions:

If during the Plan Term, you submit a valid claim by notifying Apple that a defect in materials and

workmanship has arisen in the Covered Equipment or, in relation to Covered Equipment which uses an

integrated rechargeable battery, where the capacity of the Covered Device’s battery to hold an electrical

charge is less than eighty percent (80%) of its original specifications, Apple will either: (i) repair the

defect at NO CHARGE, using new parts or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and

pass Apple functional requirements, or (ii) exchange the Covered Equipment with a replacement product

that is new or comprised of new and/or previously used genuine Apple parts and has been tested and

passed Apple functional requirements.

Apple Care is an extended warranty. The plus is an insurance policy for accidental damage. It’s pretty clear that warranty items are No Charge and accidental damage has fees associated with it. Seems pretty black and white to me.

Apple Care+ October 2022. I read the Terms and Conditions for that date and it shows fees for accidental damage but says materials and workman is no cost. The last advisor I spoke to said it it was under a year old, the regular warranty would cover it for free. It the regular warranty would cover it for free, it means it’s not accidental damage and should be covered as hardware by Apple Care+.

Got that, thanks.

He messed up. Don't know why. The "regular" AppleCare 1 year warranty expired in October 2023.

I’m sad because I had no idea. I don’t think it Says that in my Apple care agreement. I have not had it even a year yet. I paid a lot for Apple care. This phone is very nice.

I’ve just gotten out of Markey Cancer Center down the road from FRITZ FARM in Lexington. I’m from Danville. I’m Definately going to be buying an otterbox defender case now so I’ll never have to worry about it again.phone still works. It’s just a couple scratches and 2 tiny broken pieces of glass in front which is not good. Why do they break so easy? It’s jot like I meant for it to fall. I have always been an APPLE GIRL. I’m dedicated and loyal. I’ve never robbed an Apple Store like these hoodlums to and never would lol good grief. I was just diagnosed with brain and lung cancer stage 4. My medical bills are astronomical and now this😳 I go see my oncologist Aug 27. I’m not allowed to drive yet since brain surgery
