Tagged Person Missing from People Album

My son has disappeared from my People album after upgrading. It now shows his brothers face in induvidual portraits. When he is in a group (eg with his brother and sister) it will just identify two people and won’t show him with a question mark, even though the photo is full face and clear. Is there anything I can do - I search for photos of my children using People all the time. Thanks

Photos may have merged his album with the album of one your other kids, probably with his brother.

You may want to check the albums of your other kids or of other people where he is shown together, if you can find the photos of your son in their album.

Then you will have to split the merged album again.

"Fix misidentifications

  1. Open the Photos app  on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Albums, tap People & Pets, then tap the person or pet that’s misidentified.
  3. Tap Select, then tap Show Faces.
  4. Tap the image or images that are misidentified, tap , then tap This is Not [name] or These are Not [name].

You can also fix misidentifications while viewing a photo in your library. Tap  or swipe up to see the photo information. Tap the misidentified person or pet in the bottom-left corner of the photo, then tap This is Not [name]."
