Why is controlling a HomePod so hard from iOS?
I am not talking about Airplay. Rather, playing Music from the HomePod.
I have a Mini in another room and do not want to yell to get it playing.
But the UI and UX for Apple Music and Home app is just terrible to get it started and then, if you go back to adjust volume, it is replaced by the iPhone (which is playing nothing). So you have to go to Control other speakers… (COST) to bring it up.
I fully understand how to use all of this and use Airplay and COST all the time. But to get things started and controlling the “other speaker” — the Apple made HomePod — is all but unusable.
Often, while trying to get the Mini to simply play something (other than by voice), both the iPhone and the Mini end up playing the same thing, but individually! So it is like an echo/delay. Absolutely ridiculous that this is even possible unintentionally.
