How do I decommission my MacBook Air

I want to give my old MacBook Air to a different user. How do I delete all my files?

How to delete data and reset macbook pro Hi... I have two older MacBook Pro's, one of them at ...10.15.7 Catalina and the second one at ...12.6.2 Monterey I've used Macs since the beginning but admittedly am not very knowledgeable on how to delete all my data and reset the macOS to some factory reset or whatever it would be called??? Click here and follow the instructions. If the computer originally shipped with 10.6.8 or earlier, use a Mac OS X install DVD instead of the recovery system.
