Cursor jumps up about half a page when trying to edit a cell in a table

I have a new MacBook Air updated to Sonoma 14.5; and a newly updated Pages version 14.1 (7040.0.73). When I try to edit a word in a cell in an 11-page table, as soon as I single- or double-click on a word, the cursor jumps up about half a page or more and no matter how many times I scroll down to the word I want, as soon as I click on it, up the cursor jumps again. This only happens in certain cells. It never happened before the most recent Pages update. Has anyone else had this problem with the latest version of Pages? Thanks.
