Macbook Air Cycle-related Questions?

So i turned on battery optimization and my macbook starts to charge & uncharge and specific times, not letting the battery drop below 80. However, this happens about 3 times, maybe 4 or 5 a day, and I'm concerned for its cycle count. Will it increase if this happens frequently? I just have it charged in the entire time.

If you mean the battery is not draining below 80% while the power adapter is connected, then this is correct behavior since this is how macOS exercises the battery & prevents the battery from being at 100% all the time. If the battery is always at 100% charge, then it will tend to cause the battery health to deteriorate faster.

Unfortunately I cannot find the Apple article which explains Optimized Charging since I think Apple may have changed the articles around removing the more detailed explanation.

Nothing would be lost. It's just that misplaced items would be placed back to where they should be and corrupt system files would be replaced by clean files. Go Here: Reinstall macOS - Apple Support. Use the third bulleted method: [command + r].  Important: Prior to installing an update or performing a reinstallation, to prevent data loss, be sure to Back up your Mac with Time Machine.
