Battery level 83%: should i replace?

Hi everyone,

i have an iPhone 11 Pro that i’d like to keep for an year more (at least), if possible.

It’s been maybe three years that battery level is stuck at 83% (with no problem in lasting) but in last weeks i realized a few battery drop events. Moreover when charging iPhone is getting really hot sometimes.

I need a help: should i replace the battery? Or maybe it doesn’t worth on an old device like mine?

I’m afraid to waste money (99€ here in Italy) investing in replacing battery while issues could be caused by other factors linked to the age of the device.

Thank you in advance. Have a nice day.

Simone

You have another 3-4 months before the Maximum Capacity gets down to 80%.

Replace at that time.

Apple will not usually replace the battery unless it is down to 80%, even if you are willing to pay. But, if you have an authorized Apple repair shop near you, you could ask them to run some tests on the battery.

Last month, I had the Apple repair shop replace the battery in my wife's iPhone 11 and it is running like it was new. She will probably get another 2-3 years use with her iPhone 11.

≤ 80% maximum capacity is when Apple suggests the battery is eligible for replacement
