Apple keeps requesting that I remove and replace my SIM card to keep using iCloud. Why?

Apple just sent a pop up notice, do I want to continue using iCloud. Is it Apple? Why ask? How do I remove the notice if it is a scam?

No, it is NOT Apple. It's a phishing scam. Ignore it. Apple never sends such messages.
