Hey!
If your iPhone isn’t ringing for incoming calls or texts, try these steps:
- Check Silent Mode: Ensure the Ring/Silent switch on the side of your iPhone is set to Ring (no orange showing).
- Volume Levels: Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and make sure the Ringer and Alerts volume is turned up. Also, check if the Change with Buttons option is enabled.
- Do Not Disturb: Make sure Do Not Disturb isn’t enabled. Check by swiping down from the top right (iPhone X or later) or up from the bottom (iPhone 8 or earlier) to see if the moon icon is activated. Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb to turn it off if needed.
- Check Notifications: Go to Settings > Notifications > Phone (for calls) and Messages (for texts) to ensure notifications are allowed and the alert style is set correctly.
- Check Sound Settings: Verify that your ringtone and text tone are set correctly by going to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone and Text Tone.
- Restart Your iPhone: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve issues. Press and hold the power button (and volume button on some models) until you see the slider, then slide to power off. Turn it back on after a minute.
- Update iOS: Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
- Reset Settings: If none of the above works, try resetting all settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t delete your data but will reset system settings.
If the issue persists, consider contacting Apple Support.
