Why does Uber always choose Apple Pay as my payment method?

I want to delete or disconnect Apple Pay from my Uber account. I use Apple Pay for many things but not for Uber.

Apple Pay doesn’t allow me to split rides with other people. Uber automatically chooses Apple Pay as payment method even though I have a Debit Card registered. Because of this, whenever I receive a split ride request, it automatically fails.

When I try to change the payment method, the request disappears. When I restart the app, the payment method automatically chooses Apple Pay again and fails to accept the split fare request.

Please help me.

Either allow me to split fares with Apple Pay or allow me to disconnect Apple Pay from Uber or stop putting Apple Pay as first payment method automatically.

Its really annoying not being able to control my OWN payment methods.
