when my iPhone 11 rings I only get 2seconds of a ring then it answers automatically not giving me a chance to see I have a call. They then hang up. How can I have it let me slide it open for every call

Contact your carrier. They are the folks that you pay each month for cell service.
Most of them have a site that customers can log on to to look at various options with their plan. One of them is usually an option that will allow you change the number of rings before the phone goes to voicemail from 1 to 8, for example.
Others may offer a timing option like 5 seconds, 10 seconds, etc.
Presumably by “answers automatically” you mean it goes to voice mail.
If so, contact your carrier for assistance.
(It’s a simple “ringing timer” in their system)
Similar to Bob, I can set my own delay via touch-tone “Short Codes” … but every carrier’s implementation is different.
