You can, ONLY if AT&T is willing to unlock it. ONLY the carrier a phone is locked to can unlock it. You need to contact them directly and see if the phone qualifies for unlock and what, IF ANY fees may be required to pay, if there are any owed on a contract with AT&T.

Apple CANNOT unlock a carrier locked phone at all.

Yes.....you would contact ATT and ask them to remove the lock on the phone.

We assume that the phone is yours, is paid in full and you have met the terms that you agreed to with ATT.

ATT will likely be less than thrilled to help with this, so you may need to be firm. Apple would not be involved with this in any way.

But if you’re not an active AT&T subscriber …
