2021 iMac 24" Persistent horizontal lines suddenly appear across the bottom half of the screen display after 2 years of use

I am posting this to share an ongoing issue I have been experiencing with the 2021 iMac 24-inch model, and it seems that there are many others experiencing a similar issue.

There are numerous threads on this forum, noting a similar experience of persistent horizontal lines suddenly appearing across their display screen, two years into using this specific model: 2021 iMac 24". This is a stationary computer and has no physical damage to the screen.

Here are the steps I've taken so far:

Restarted my computer multiple times. No change.
Took a screenshot of the screen and viewed the screenshot on another device. There are no lines when viewing on another device, which indicates that the issue is most likely with the screen and not a software issue.

I am seeking a resolution to this issue and would encourage others experiencing something similar to share their experience here as well. For a stationary computer that has only been used for 2 years, it is disappointing to experience screen failures this early and have to bear the expensive repair cost, especially when there are so many others experiencing the same issue with the same model. I am wondering what can be done about this?

Unfortunately you're not alone. If you balk at paying the $700 to replace the screen a much more economical approach would be to get a 27" 5K monitor as a second (and primary) monitor. You can get them from anywhere from ~$140 to $350 for a 32" LG monitor w/speakers. You wouldn't need speakers for the comparable monitor without would be less.

Just some food for thought.

Yes, thank you for your suggestion. I have spoken with two advisors who told me there was nothing they could do and that I would have to pay the $700 to have the display replaced. Since there are numerous reports of this happening to others with the same model, I am hoping we can build a case for more investigation into this issue and look into the root cause of why this is happening.
