Recommend a best vocal remover software for mac?

I'm looking for a good vocal removal software recently, mainly to process some music files on Mac and remove vocal part from songs. I tried several online services before, but the experience was not very good, there were too many ads, and the processing speed was very slow, and the effect was not satisfactory. I wonder if anyone can recommend an efficient and stable vocal remover software for Mac?

If you have good suggestions or experience, please share it, thank you very much!

Audacity is a great option for removing vocals from songs because it is a free, open-source audio editing software that offers a variety of tools and plugins for audio manipulation. One of the key features is the Vocal Reduction and Isolation plugin, which allows users to effectively isolate or remove vocals from a track. This plugin uses sophisticated algorithms to minimize the presence of vocals while preserving the quality of the remaining audio.

Additionally, Audacity boasts an extensive support community and comprehensive documentation. Its versatile platform supports a wide range of audio formats and offers numerous editing options beyond vocal removal, such as noise reduction, equalization, and effects processing. This makes Audacity a popular vocal remover software for Mac audience.

iZotope RX is too expensive ($1,199.00). For a simple vocal removing task, there are many dedicated vocal remover software for Mac out there at a much lower price, such as AudioKies.

In addition, iZotope RX can be quite complex and overwhelming for users who are not experienced in audio editing. The software offers a wide range of tools and features, which, while powerful, can make the process of removing vocals more complicated than necessary. Users who are seeking a straightforward and quick solution might find the steep learning curve and extensive options of iZotope RX to be more than they need.

I don't like Audacity very much. Although it has the function "vocal remover", the effect is not very strong, especially when facing some complex audio, the effect is relatively rough. After removing the vocals, sometimes echoes are left or the sound quality of the accompaniment is affected.

Once I tried to use Audacity to remove vocals from an song, and the accompaniment part became very fuzzy and completely unusable.

FFMPEG is one of the best vocal remover software for Mac users. This is a free and very popular command-line tool for multimedia processing.

You can remove vocals from song with a single command:

ffmpeg -i input.mp3 -af "pan=stereo|c0=c0|c1=-1*c1" output.mp3

Replace input.mp3 with the name of your audio file and output.mp3 with the desired name for the processed file.

By following these steps, you can easily use FFmpeg to separate vocals from a song on your Mac.

PhonicMind is a very interesting online vocal removal software that feels like magic, and can quickly separate vocals from the instrumental in a song. To use it, you just upload your audio file and wait a few minutes for it to generate the instrumental with the vocals removed and the separated vocal part. The whole process is very intuitive and simple, especially for those who are not very familiar with audio editing software.

Disadvantages:

  1. Internet connection required: As an online service, you must stay connected to the Internet, and the speed of uploading and downloading files will affect the whole process.
  2. Cost: PhonicMind is not free, it charges a fee or provides a subscription service, which may be expensive for those who need to process audio frequently.
  3. Limitations of processing effects: Although PhonicMind works well in most cases, for some songs with complex background sounds, the effect of removing vocals may not be as expected, which may leave a small amount of vocal residue or affect the quality of accompaniment.
