Esim transfer troubles from Iphone to Iphone

I am having issues in transferring esims from one phone to another. The issues are happening on two different mobile operators and seem they are connected with a failed deletion of the esim from the old phone. Therefore the mobile plan is not released for the new one. This is happening only recently as in the past i never had issues. Can this be connected to the new IOS 17? Is this happening also to others?

Short answer is millions of users transfer eSIMs from “old” to “new” phones (this user included) including to and/or between iOS17 devices.


If your carrier is having difficulties … it’s for them to resolve.


It of course MAY be a hardware issue w/ your phone; your carrier can help you make this assessment.


You don’t mention in what region you’re located; but eSIMS are still fairly “new” for many carriers; they often have their own internal technical and procedural “learning curves” to climb.

thanks for your prompt feedback.... you are indeed right.... but I see that i am not the only one having this same exact issue, in various part of the world, even including the USA.... true that esims are new. However i had never a problem previously. So my feeling that is a new procedure implemented with the new update and that probably the carriers need still to acknowledge and update their procedures, still stands. thanks
