Red audio symbol in my text box how do I get rid of it

The red audio stays on in my text and records me talking and sends when start another text to that person

turn off audio messaging Running iOS 17.3 on iphone 14. Audio messaging is on for all apps - Messenger, WhatsApp. the audiowaves icon is on the top in the bar beside the clock. See pic. I'm not sure when this showed up - most likely one of the iOS 17 updates as this is new in the bar! It records voice to text automatically even while I'm typing a new message! It will audio record anythime I talk while the cursor is in the text bar. It's extremely frustrating.
