You would want to call ahead to make sure that the shop has the replacement battery in stock and ask them for an appointment time, so that they understand that you will be waiting for the service to be performed.

It will only take about 15-20 minutes for the technician to replace the battery, so you might bring some reading material to use while you wait.

Recently, I visited a shop......without an appointment.....and it only took about 30 minutes for the battery replacement process. Most shops understand that you want to get in and out as quickly as possible for simple service.

Thank you for your response. That’s a good idea to call ahead and enquire. Thanks again.

The last time I had a battery replaced, I had an appointment but it was in the late afternoon. I was given the option of leaving the phone overnight or bringing it back the next day, as they had gotten quite backed up. So, in addition to calling ahead, if you do decide to make an appointment, make it for as early in the day as you can.

Thank you for your comment.

Sounds like it’s better to get the battery replaced by post in my case.

I understand it takes about 6-10 days by post. But it costs a fair bit of a train fare for me to attend a scheduled appointment.

It will be a waste of time and money if it is just to be told that they would keep my phone and I would have to come back for collection.

Thanks for your response anyway.
