MacBook blank screen showing just cursor

My M2 MacBook Pro (2022) -A2338 has a faulty display. Can’t get a screen replacement so I tried to use an external display.

When connected to an external monitor, I only see my cursor and nothing else. When I enter password and click enter. The pc seems to reboot itself. Then back to the blank screen with cursor.

will appreciate if there’s any way around this issue…

to toggle the sense of "Mirror displays" use:

Command-BrightnessDown

this should flip the setting of "Mirrors Displays" and if they were previously set to extended desktop, allow the login screen on the external display.

if the Touch Bar will not show function keys, your Mac needs a major repair.

Thanks but don't have brightness now… It’s a touchbar and it ain’t active either
